Frame sizes in India are usually quoted in inches, while you might measure your wall at home in centimetres. The chart above lets you switch between the two, so you can measure your space in cm and still order the right inch size. A quick way to estimate: one inch is about 2.5 cm, so an 8×10 inch frame is roughly 20×25 cm and a 16×20 is about 40×50 cm.
For a desk, shelf or bedside, 5×7 or 6×8 is ideal. For a single photo on a wall, 8×10 and 10×12 are the most popular — big enough to see, easy to place. For a hero piece above a sofa, bed or console, go with 12×15 or 16×20 so the frame fills the space well. On a gallery wall, mixing several 8×10s with one larger frame gives a nice rhythm.
